Butterflies
"Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is
always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly,
may alight upon you."

Nathaniel Hawthorne

Hope, dreams, passion and desire – we all have
these at one point and time in our lives or several
times.  But what and which category do these fall
under?  Are my dreams a reality? Do I want my
dreams and hopes to become a reality?  What are
my desires and passions?  Have I fulfilled any of my
heart desires?  Am I passionate about my career and
what I really want in life?  Questions that often go
unanswered or never even thought of

in our daily journey.

A friend gave a bit of bad news about herself over
the weekend; I didn’t digest it well.  I felt that life has
really dealt her a sour hand even though she felt
optimistic in reference to the entire situation in
hand.  I won’t say what I was told, but it made my
stomach sour for she is such a wonderful person.

However, she still has desires and a passion for
accomplishments in life not fulfilled.  She stated that
once she’s over her dilemma that she was going on
a motorcycle ride for this is something that she has
desired for the longest.  It made me perk up and feel
hopeful.   I begin to think of how short life could
really be and then soon thought of the questions in
the first paragraph; hope, dreams, passion and
desires.

Have I fulfilled any of mine?

We need to not take anything for granite and live life
to the fullness.  Regard our dreams, hopes, passion
and desires.  Life may seem long, but may also be
short.  If you have dreams that you wished was
reality see it through.  If you have a passion or
desire, make it happen.  For we do not know how
long we have on this ill-gotten earth; make the best
of it.

How do you feel about that?

Judaism

One should always
be soft as
a reed and
not as tough as
cedar.
In the case
of a reed,
all the winds
in the world
can go on
blowing against
it but it sways
with them so
that when the
winds grow silent,
it reverts and stands
in place.
But in the case of a
cedar it will
not stand in place,
but when the south
wind blows against
it, it uproots
the cedar and
turns it over.

When he is mature
